I can’t tell you how excited I was when I came across this amazing vintage dress with matching shrug from the 1960’s. The best part about it was that both pieces were homesewn impeccably–I can just picture a cute 20-something woman sitting at home sewing this dress/jacket combination to wear into town. It instantly reminded me of my grandmother who used to sew outfits just like this one for herself. She taught me how to sew when I was about seven years old. She was so talented and could make almost anything with or without a pattern–and every Christmas my sister and I had matching dresses sewn by my grandmother. Seeing this adorable vintage dress and jacket instantly reminded me of her. It looks like something she really would have loved to wear–and when I received it in the mail, I was surprised that it fit me perfectly! It was meant to be. 🙂 This little vintage dress is something I will treasure for years to come and I’m so glad I found it.
If you are ever looking for cute vintage apparel, I suggest you check out Rusty Zipper, where I found this awesome dress. They have everything categorized by decade so you can find just what you’re looking for. Right now I’m in LOVE with this dress but unfortunately the price is out of my budget:
Oh well! I’m sure someone will give it a good home.
