Home and Garden: Angela Adams Rugs

Portland, Maine is home to rug designer Angela Adams, who is known for her high end collection of rugs that take inspiration from nature. Her three-dimensional sheared wool rugs look like topographical representations of moss-covered forest floors, underground soil and root systems, ocean floors, and sand dunes. With prices ranging from just over $500 to a whopping $35,000 for the largest and most intricate design (10 feet by 12 feet), most of these rugs are out of our price range. Even though we can’t afford to buy one, we think they are still worth admiring for their attention to detail and creativity: We love the bright, bold colors of Angela Adams‘ Ocean Floor Tapestry:

The Ocean rug in Seaglass is calming and soothing–just like the ocean:

It comes in various shapes and sizes and looks perfect in a bathroom:

The same rug also comes in a neutral color version called Sand:

In keeping with the ocean theme, this Angela Adams rug is called Dune. It reminds us of sand and the ocean –and is also available in various shapes and sizes:

This rug called Sea Fantasy features an ocean theme with a fun mermaid design–perfect for a child’s room:

Harbor reminds us of waves crashing in the ocean at night:

Angela Adams doesn’t just find inspiration in the ocean and sea life– plants, trees, and forests are themes that are also present in her work. Consider this rug that depicts an abstract cross-section of the underground soil and root systems of plants:

The Woodland rug is something that would instantly make you feel like you’re out in nature, with its woodland-inspired green and brown color scheme. It has a retro 1970′s vibe to it:

One of the coolest and most intricate designs we came across is the Forest Floor rug, depicting a moss and plant covered forest floor.

Although it may be difficult to see in the photos, this is a three dimensional textured rug that literally stands out. This would be amazing in a child’s forest-themed bedroom:

It’s no surprise that a whole slew of celebrities have been spotted in this chic and sexy Alexander Wang dress that retails for $795. The combination of black and neutral paired together looks great on almost any girl.
Who do you think wore it best? I love how Rihanna kept it simple without large, bulky jewelry– but I don’t understand the bright silver oversized handbag, so I’m going to have to go with Paris or Demi Lovato for the win.
